Beginners

Take your first steps into the world of salsa in a fun, welcoming environment. This four-week course is designed for complete beginners, introducing the essential building blocks of salsa dancing. You’ll learn basic timing, footwork, partner connection, leading and following techniques, simple turns, and how to dance comfortably to the music. Each class builds on the previous one, helping you develop confidence and coordination at a steady pace.

Footwork examples: basic step, back step, rumba, cumbia.
Partnerwork examples: right turn, crossbody lead, inside turn, outside turn.

Beginners Plus

Curriculum length: 4 weeks.
To be booked as 4-week course.

Ready for the next step? Beginners Plus builds directly on the foundations established in our Beginners course. Over four weeks, you’ll expand your repertoire with new steps, turn patterns, and improved techniques. You’ll continue developing leading and following skills while learning how to move more naturally and musically around the dance floor. By the end, you’ll feel comfortable dancing a wider variety of combinations and be well prepared to progress into the Improvers level.

Improvers

Curriculum length: 12 weeks.
Enjoy with a 12 or 4-week passes, or as drop-in.

The Improvers programme is designed to strengthen your fundamentals while introducing a much broader vocabulary of salsa movements. Across a twelve-week curriculum, you’ll develop cleaner technique, stronger partner connection, and greater confidence in social dancing. You will also learn various solo steps, which enable you to enjoy salsa not only when physically connected to a partner but also by yourself. Classes cover a variety of turn patterns, cross-body lead combinations, and practical leading and following skills that can be applied with different partners.

Partnerwork examples: CBL inside turn & copa variations, CBL reverse turns, Texas Tommy, routines with blocks & wraps.

Conversion to On2 (Improvers On2)

Curriculum length: 12 weeks.

Discover the elegance and musicality of New York Style Salsa by learning to dance On2. This style is becoming the mainstream type of salsa in most places in the world, so if you want to feel confident dancing salsa whenever you’re travelling across the world or just when going to a salsa party in London, we’ve got you covered! This twelve-week curriculum is specifically designed for dancers who are already confident dancing at improver level On1 and want to make a smooth transition to the On2 timing. You’ll explore the differences in rhythm, timing, and movement while practising familiar figures adapted to the new style. The course develops musical awareness, precise timing, partner connection, and confidence dancing On2 without feeling overwhelmed.

The footwork and partnerwork in this curriculum is very similar to the Improvers curriculum but is done On2.

Improvers Plus On2

Take your On2 dancing to the next level with our comprehensive twenty-four-week curriculum that focuses on refining both technique and creativity. Classes introduce more challenging partnerwork, improved body movement, shines, and greater precision in leading and following. You’ll learn how to dance naturally to the music and your partner. Throughout the programme, emphasis is placed on developing smooth movement, confidence on the social dance floor, and an understanding of the structure and character of Salsa On2.

Footwork examples: broken left turn, double turn (solo), jazz step, double spiral.
Partnerwork examples: longer routines with CBL turn variations (inside & outside), double turns, blocks, wraps, 1 or 2-handed variations with touch & go, and flicks.

Intermediates On2

Curriculum length: 24 weeks.

Designed for experienced On2 dancers, the Intermediate curriculum offers an engaging challenge for those looking to elevate every aspect of their dancing. Over twenty-four weeks, classes explore sophisticated partnerwork, advanced musicality, timing, styling, body movement, and social dance technique. You’ll work on creating clearer communication with your partner, improving efficiency of movement, and expressing the music with confidence and precision. The curriculum regularly introduces fresh combinations and concepts inspired by contemporary New York Style Salsa, helping you become a more versatile, adaptable, and expressive social dancer while continuing to refine your technical foundation.

Footwork examples: hook turns, cigarette step, heel-toe step patterns.
Partnerwork examples: complex routines with multiple double or triple turns, multiple changes of direction, leaders initiating turns behind the back, precise wraps & flicks.
